Question
Is it legal if a man who uses some of oils treatment to encourage grows of his beard and moustache?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
It is not permissible to use oils that are causing intoxication or which are a downer as they are impure, because intoxicants are impure according to the majority of the scholars
. However, there is no harm to oil the hair with pure oils and this applies both to a man or a woman. It is confirmed that the Prophet 
used to comb and oil his hair and beard. Therefore, there is no harm for a man to oil his hair or beard with pure oils [and creams].
