Question
Is it permissible to send the picture of a young girl when she was at a crawling age through the messenger to a marriageable person?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
The ruling is the same for a marriageable person or a non-marriageable person in looking at a girl at a crawling age directly, let alone if it is on a picture. This ruling applies to her being a girl. As regards keeping her picture, the ruling is already mentioned in Fatwa 87435. The other issue is the relationship between a woman and a marriageable man, whether this is by sending a picture or otherwise, as per Fatwa 81356 in which the ruling about this is mentioned.
