My husband wants to get married and I am a wonderful wife, I do everything he tells me. Is it Haraam for me to tell him not to get married or stopping him from get married?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Allaah legislated the permissibility for a man to marry more than one wife for great religious objectives. So, it is permissible for a husband to marry up to four wives if he is able to be just between them.
Allaah Says (what means): {…then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hands possess [i.e. slaves]. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].}[Quran 4:3]
Therefore, you should not tell your husband not to marry a second wife if he is able to be just between you two, but if you do tell him, you are not sinful, Allaah willing. Then, if he agrees with you, all the best, but if he marries a second wife, you have to be pleased with that and surrender yourself to Allaah's Commandments, as you have no right to prevent him from marrying a second wife.
Allaah Knows best.
