Question
I am working as a software engineer. In doing some projects, we write programs to transfer files for developing certain applications. I write programs which transfer files which include horoscope details, jokes, poems which are not Islamic in content. Please let me know if it is permissible to work in such project. Please note that the project as a whole is good but there are modules which are not Islamic...I keep working in different modules but only few modules are like this. Please let me know what I should do when faced with such situation. It really concerns me.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Non-Islamic material which is forbidden in Shariah, like astrology, i.e. claims about the unseen or future events (as the magicians and fortunetellers do) is forbidden and any kind of cooperation in such an act is also forbidden.
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever learns some thing of astrology has, infact, acquired some knowledge of magic, and the more knowledge he receives (in this field) The more he will be in the magic." (Abu dawood)
If the jokes or poems contain lies, bad faiths, obscenity etc, then they are forbidden. If the programs are free from Haram matters, bad expressions, then developing such programs or helping in them is permissible.
