Question
Prophet Muhammad said “Surah Hud and its sisters turned my hair gray”. What are the sisters of Surah Hud?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said that Surah Hud and its sisters turned his hair grey.
The sisters of this Surah are: Al-Waqia (56), Al-Mursalat (77), An-Naba’ (78) and Al-Takwir (81).
The evidence for this is the Hadith reported by Al Tirmizi and Al Hakim. Al Zahbi considered this Hadith sound in his comments on Al Mustadrak.
