Dealings at the work place

Question

I've been working in a shop for 3 years, so I had a lot of contacts with some Arabs and some customers from the Middle East, and because I am the only one who speaks Arabic in the pharmacy they come to me for some help or if they want to buy something. The owner sold the pharmacy and the new owner asked me to stay with her. I am the manager now and I am allowed to buy anything at cost price whether is it for me or for a friend. Now those customers they come to me or they call me for some medications that normally needs, prescriptions and because they are not from here they don't have a prescription. I help them by selling them the medication, and the profit is about 50% (percent) and that's the rate even with a private prescription. The question is: am I allowed to take the profit. Also I have a friend next door who sometimes asks for the same help. I make the order and I take it to him and he pays me cash. Am I allowed to pay for the cost and take the profit? When I make any big order the representatives give us free stock. Can I take some of it?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Since you are only an employee in this shop, so you have no right to do any kind of dealings without its owner's permission, in selling or buying. Now, if the owner permits you to take this profit, then that is permissible, otherwise it is not. The same rule applies for the free stock the representatives give you. Allah knows best.
