As the issue of woman covering thier feet or not was not clearly answered in question 4076, could you please answer directly concerning only the covering of feet. Firstly when she prays and secondly when she goes outside?
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
The woman should cover her feet during the prayer by her socks or by her own garment. This is the opinion of the majority of the scholars. It is also the most preponderant opinion. Abu Dawood reported from Um Salama that she asked the Prophet about the woman praying in a coat and a veil without a skirt. He said: "If the coat is long enough to cover her feet (she could pray as described)".
As for the rule of uncovering the feet outside the prayer, it is unlawful as long as they can be seen by any alien man as the feet are from the Awrah.
Allah knows best.
