If a person repents for not enjoining good and forbidding evil, will it be accepted? The person is determined to enjoin good and forbid evil in the future. He also intends to tell those who sinned that he was mistaken for not forbidding them from doing evil in the past.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.
Repentance is available to everyone of any sin. Allah Says (what means): {Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.} [Quran 39:53] furthermore, the Prophet told us that the time of repentance is open until the sun rises from the west (i.e., the Day of Judgment) [Abu Daawood].
Undoubtedly, enjoining good and forbidding evil are among the best acts of worship, the best forms of Jihaad and among the characteristics of the pious slaves of Allah. Anyone who realizes that he has neglected this act can hasten to treat his negligence. Allah accepts the repentance of the one who repents.
Finally, informing the one who did the evil that you made a mistake by approving of his evildoing is a step on the road to reform.
Allah Knows best.
