If my hand is impure, does it render everything I touch impure?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
If your hand is stained with wet impurity when you touch things, then these things are rendered impure and vice versa. Ad-Dusooqi a Maaliki scholar, said: "Dryness of urine that stained a garment does not make it pure, but it remains impure. So when a wet thing touches that garment, it will be impure as well."
But if your hand is stained with dry impurity and the things you touch are dry as well, then such things are not rendered impure upon touching. As-Suyooti a Shaafi‘i scholar, said: "If a dry impure thing touched a dry pure thing, it does not make it impure."
Allaah Knows best.
