Question
During high school we had a final essay project which was required and was graded based on a points system and I may have lied on a portion of it and I may have had haram elements in it like I drew living creatures so I was wondering if getting a job with degree and if the income are halal as without the final essay project I wouldn't have been to graduate
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) is His slave and Messenger.
In summary, regarding what you asked about: you must first repent from cheating, lying, and other prohibited actions you have fallen into. Similarly, you should feel remorse for them, seek forgiveness, and firmly resolve not to return to them.
As for the matter of the job, if you know within yourself that you are qualified to perform it properly, then there is no harm in obtaining it. The salary you receive for working in it is lawful, Allah willing, as it is in return for your actual work.
