How can I stay safe from any kind of harm from the jinn and shaitan. If my house is possessed by jin, how can I get permanent protection. Do I have to read surah baqarah daily?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If you wish to safeguard yourself and your household from the harm of jinn and devils, then you should increase your remembrance of Allah, the Exalted. A hadith states: “I command you to remember Allah frequently, for the example of one who remembers Allah is akin to a man whose enemy is tirelessly pursuing him until he seeks refuge in a fortified stronghold, thereby safeguarding himself. Similarly, when a servant remembers Allah, he will be resorting to the best refuge from Satan.” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Hibban, Ibn Khuzaymah, and Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak].
Part of these remembrances includes performing the prescribed daily Adhkar (remembrances), such as those recited in the morning and evening, when entering and leaving the restroom, and upon entering and leaving the house, as well as after prayers.
Notably, reciting Surah Al-Baqarah at home provides significant protection from the devil, as the devil flees from a house where Surah Al-Baqarah is recited. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: “Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed, Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited” [Reported by Muslim]. This hadith has been narrated by At-Tirmidhi and the words are: “Indeed, the devil does not enter the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.” Ibn Hibban also narrated it, and the words are: “Verily, the devil flees from the house in which he hears Surah Al-Baqarah recited therein.”
Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah daily can grant this protection, though it is not a condition for safeguarding against Satan to recite it daily. Some hadiths mention that Satan will stay away for three nights from a house where Surah Al-Baqarah has been recited.
Protection can also be attained through the recitation of Ayat Al-Kursi. Sahih Al-Bukhari reports that Satan said to Abu Hurayrah : “When you go to your bed, recite Ayat Al-Kursi, for then there will be with you a guardian from Allah who will protect you all night long and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” The Prophet confirmed this, saying: “He told you the truth, though he is a liar.”
Moreover, reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas and the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) three times each morning and evening is also recommended. A hadith states: “Recite ‘Say, He is Allah, [Who is] One’ (Surah Al-Ikhlas) and the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) in the morning and in the evening three times and they will suffice you against everything.” [Reported by Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunan. Al-Albani graded it as sound].
Also, increase your charitable acts, seek Allah’s protection, and observe Du’aa’ (supplication) during the last part of the night and in Sujood (prostration).
Allah knows best.
