No need to use tissue after Istinjaa' or Istijmaar

Question

I did Istijmaar (cleaning impurity using stones) from urine, and when I had finished and was clean, I did Istinjaa' (cleaning impurity using water), and when I was pouring water, I felt this feeling as if something came out. Should I ignore this, or should I pour again whenever this happens regardless of whether I did Istijmaar or Istinjaa' only? This has happened a lot before as well. And does one have to check with a tissue for any impurity after having done Istinjaa' and Istijmaar for defecating, or should one ignore the constant doubts?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It seems from your questions that you suffer Waswaas (obsessive whisperings). We advise you to ignore your doubts and totally disregard such satanic whisperings. If you have any doubts as to whether any discharge has been emitted, then you should rely on the basic principle, which is that no discharge has been emitted. You should act upon the basic principle and disregard such doubts until you know with certainty that something has come out to the extent that you can swear to it.

If you used water after performing Istijmaar, then that is good. You should not pour water again simply because you have doubts that something came out after Istinjaa'.

You do not need to use a tissue or anything else after Istinjaa'; it is sufficient to wash off the impurity until you believe that the impurity has most likely been removed. When you do that, you have successfully purified yourself; you should simply get up and carry on with your activities while disregarding such satanic whisperings and doubts.

Allah knows best.
