Dear Brothers, Asalam-Alaikum i would like to know from your kindselves a Hadith Qudsi which i heard saying that Allah (subhana-wata-ala) ordered Jibreel (alayhi-salaam) to destroy one city but Jibreel returned saying that there is one person in that city who is always busy in our Zikr. then Allah replied first destry him and then the city because when my laws & deen was being broken he did not feel anything in his heart. this is the Hadith-Mubarakkah which i would like your kindselves to quote to me properly with all details. jazakallah khairun kaseera wasallam
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth was reported by Al-Bayhaqi in his book entitled Shu’ab Al-‘Eemaan, and it was also reported by At-Tabaraani in his book entitled Al-Awsat, on the authority of Jaabir attributing it to the Prophet but its chain of narrators is Dha’eef [weak].
The correct opinion is that this is a statement of Maalik Ibn Dinaar as stated by Al-Bayhaqi .
Al-Bayhaqi reported it in Shu’ab Al-‘Eemaan, and attributed it to Maalik Ibn Dinaar, who said: “Allaah, The Almighty, ordered a village to be tortured and the angels said amazingly: “There is amongst them Your slave so and so.” Then, Allaah said: “Make me hear his crying, as his face did not ever turn angry due to My Prohibitions being transgressed.” Then Al-Bayhaqi said: “This is what is known, namely it is a statement of Maalik Ibn Dinaar.”
This statement was also reported in another wording through a weak route from Abu Sufyaan from Jaabir who said: “The Prophet said: "Allaah inspired to Jibreel (Gabriel,) to turn so and so city upside down as well as its people. He said: “Then he (Jibreel) said: “O my Lord, there is among them Your slave so and so who did not disobey you for a blink of an eye.” He said: He (Allaah) said: “Turn it upside down upon them as his face never turned angry (due to My Limits being transgressed).”
Allaah Knows best.
