Fatwa CenterA village committee building a mosque with unlawful money
Question
Futwa for following illegal Amount Used in Masjid Construction. Details are: 1: In our presence, our Village commette Sold a Drain for some money (Drain means: in which waste, used water and dirt is flowing to Drainage System) 2: (Mohallah Commette) constructed two Shops on Main Road crossing which is illegal land and received Constracting Cost Amount as Advance from two Shopkeepers as rent and made promise with the shopkeepers, "that if this construction is demolished by government , we can pay your money back," after two years Government demolished these shops but our commette could not paid that money back to shopkeepers,which the commette had recived as advance from shopkeepers . Among the two Shopkeepers one is Orphan of 15 years age. 3: One family in our locality constructed building on Government land,but our commette stoped their work, after that the family paid some mony to the said commette and completed their constraction ALL THE ABOVE ILLEGAL MONEY COLLECTED FROM THE ABOVE PARTIES AND USED IN CONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE MASJID . Please tell me, is that illegal amount good for construction of Masjid according to Islamic Rules
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
This committee taking money from the people illegally is an evil act and it must guarantee the money.
As regards building the mosque with ill-gotten money, then we have already issued Fataawa 85934, 85198, 85191 and 82838 clarifying its ruling.
