What are the Quranic verses, Prophetic supplications and Athkaar that may be read on one who is possessed by jinn?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
The whole Quran is a cure for any disease or harm experienced by a Muslim. According to the Sunnah, there are specific verses and chapters that are read as Ruqyah for exorcizing Jinn and other evils, such as: Al-Baqarah (chapter 2), verse of Al-Kursi [2:255], the two final verses of Al-Baqarah, chapters Al-’Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq and An-Naas (chapters 112, 113 and 114).
It was narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to perform Ruqyah using this supplication: “Bismillaah arqeek, min kulli shay’in y’theek, wamin sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘ayni haasidin, Allaahu yashfeek. Bismillaah arqeek.” (I perform Ruqyah for you in the Name of Allaah, so that He may protect you against everything harmful, against the evil of every soul or eye. May Allaah cure you. I perform Ruqyah for you in the Name of Allaah.) [Muslim]
The aforementioned Quranic verses, chapters and Hadeeth, along with any other relevant authentic Hadeeth is all effective – Allaah Willing – against any form of possession by Jinn, whether the jinni is a Muslim or a non-Muslim.
