New Bombing Slows U.S. Peacemaking
A Palestinian Resistance bomber blew himself up at a road junction near the northern port city of Haifa on Wednesday, killing himself but causing no other casualties, police said. Earlier reports said an Israeli soldier was killed and a number of others were wounded. The bomber was walking along Megiddo Junction when the blast went off, possibly prematurely. A group of occupation soldiers was standing at a nearby bus stop and might have been the intended target, Israel occupation Army Radio said .(Read photo caption)

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, the second Resistance bombing in a 12-hour period. Megiddo Junction is just a few miles from the Palestinian city of Jenin in the West Bank.
