ISABELA, Philippines (Islamweb & Agencies) - The beheaded bodies of two Filipinos who were kidnapped by the outlawed Muslim rebels in the southern Philippines were discovered Saturday outside the provincial capital, police said.
The two men, who had been captured by the Abu Sayyaf rebels from a coconut plantation where they were working, appeared to had been killed earlier this month, apparently shortly after they were seized, said police Sgt. Abdul Jumahalid.
The outlaws continue to hold about two dozens hostages, including three Americans, on Basilan island, where thousands of Philippine soldiers have been searching for them.
Nearly two weeks ago, the bandits claimed to have beheaded one of their American captives, Guillermo Sobero, 40, of Corona, Calif. The military has said that is probably true, but soldiers and police have been unable to find his remains.
Working on an anonymous tip, police found the two beheaded bodies Saturday about two miles from Isabela, the capital of Basilan island.
They were identified as Primitivo Falcasantos, a 40-year-old security guard from the Golden Harvest coconut plantation raided by the Abu Sayyaf earlier this month, and Crisantos Suela, a coconut plantation laborer in his 30s.
One of the bodies had a message written in a ball point pen on its T-shirt saying that more people would be decapitated. The heads of both victims were missing.
