All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
It is permissible to conclude the funeral prayer with one Tasleem only, moreover, some scholars are of the view that this is even desirable. This view is indeed reported from six companions .
Ibn Qudaamah said: 'The Tasleem in the funeral prayer is only once (i.e. on one side only) and this is reported from six companions 'Ali, Ibn 'Umar, Ibn 'Abbaas, Jaabir, Abu Hurayrah, Anas Ibn Maalik, Ibn Abu Awfa, Waathilah Ibn Al-Asqa' this is also the view of Sa'eed Ibn Jubayr, Al-Hassan and Ibn Seereen …'
