The condition for the validity of performing Tayammum (dry ablution) using a wall

Question:

Is it permissible to perform Tayammum (dry ablution) [by putting one’s hands] on a wall?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

If there is any soil on the wall it is permissible to perform Tayammum (dry ablution) by wiping your hands over it. However, if there is no soil on it then it is only acceptable to perform Tayammum with the earth. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 85128.
