Women wearing sunglasses

Question:

Is women allowed to wear sunglasses?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

 

In principle wearing sun glasses is allowed for both men and women especially if there is a need for it.

However, if a Muslim woman wears glasses, this should not prevent her from wearing full Islamic dress (Hijab) and she should not do so with the intention of imitating men or non-Muslim and dissolute women.

If these conditions are not met, then it is not permissible for her to wear them.
