Making Movie Recap Videos

Question:

Salams, is it halal for me to make movie recap videos. I take a 2 hour movie and make it 10 minutes. I take out all audio, music, sexual references, sexual scenes and make sure the movie is an action/thriller movie. But no matter what I do I cannot remove women from my videos and they would be dressed relatively appropriately but show their face, hair and arms for example. My question is, if I make these videos and post it, is it Halal?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

In what you mentioned, there are two prohibitions, the first prohibition is looking at evils that the film contains, and this is not permissible for you, even with the intention of deleting or minimizing what is not permissible.

The second prohibition is that these evils remain in the video clip after summarizing it, such as women not being decently dressed and exposing their beauty, so it is forbidden to publish it because the woman’s hair and arm are 'Awrah by agreement of scholars.

Accordingly, you must avoid all of that, and look for a pure and lawful work, and you will find it, by Allah's will. Whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, He will compensate him with something better than what he missed.
