Emitting brownish discharge while delaying period after laparoscopy

Question:
Assalaamu alaykum. I have undergone laparoscopic surgery one month and a half ago because of infertility, and I was suffering severe menstrual cramps due to endometriosis. After the surgery, my gynecologist told me to postpone the menses for 12 weeks until it heals completely. If I menstruate again, there is a high possibility of entrometrial tissues developing again. However, for two days, I have been seeing a light brownish discharge, but without any blood spots at all. Can I pray these days? If not, then how long should I wait? Please reply as soon as possible.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The view which we adopt at Islamweb is that such discharges that are not preceded by menstrual blood are not considered part of the menstruation unless they come out during the time of the woman's regular period. Accordingly, you should not leave prayer and fasting on account of such discharges unless they come out during the regular time of your period, as they would be considered menstruation in this case.
Allah knows best.
