Question:
Assalaamu alaykum. I had a friend who complemented a hoodie that I was wearing. Because of this, I bought more hoodies like the one I wore. I think that I bought them to impress her; I bought them because I liked them, but I did have her in my mind when I bought them. I have totally blocked her out of my life and discovered that her name had a meaning that contains (polytheism). Does this mean that I have to stop wearing these hoodies?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
You do not have to stop wearing those hoodies as long as they are permissible, but you have to stop befriending non-Mahram (marriageable) women, because relationships between boys and girls under the name of friendship and so on is a door to temptation and a cause that leads to corruption and evil.
