Question:
Is the following narration authentic? It comes from one of As-Suyuti's books which is called Prophetic medicine:
According to Abu Hurayrah, the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, once complained to angel Jibreel (Gabriel) that he could not have sexual intercourse often enough. "What?" replied the angel, "Why do you not eat Harisa? There is the strength of forty men in this dish!" [Harisa is a tasty meatdish.]
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The hadeeth in reference was cited in the book Al-Mawdhoo‘aat Al-Munkaraat (False and Fabricated Reports). Al-Mulla ‘Ali Al-Qaari wrote, "The chains of narration of this report are fabricated, and some scholars declared them weak (inauthentic)." [Al-Asraar Al-Marfoo‘ah fi Al-Akhbaar Al-Mawdhoo‘ah]
Allah knows best.
