All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
On the authority of ‘Abdullaah ibn Mas‘ood the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, stated that Hell will be brought on that Day (the Day of Resurrection) with seventy bridles; and for every bridle there will be seventy thousand angels pulling it . [Muslim]
We did not find a Hadeeth denoting that Hell will slip from the hands of the angels as you mentioned. However, Al-Qurtubi stated on the authority of Zayd Ibn Aslam that Hell will slip from the hands of the angels and they will catch it again. The chain of narration of this Hadeeth is not authentic. Abu Haamid mentioned a tradition close to the meaning mentioned by the questioner but without a chain of narrators.
Therefore, all this is of no significance.
Allaah Knows best.
