Question:

what is owaisia silsila? kindly tell me about the chain of this silsila in detail...is it broken?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

The sole source of the religion of Islam is the revelation which is the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). The guidance is in these two sources only as it is confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Indeed, I am leaving for you two things with which you will never go astray if you hold fast to them: the Book of Allaah and my Sunnah.” [Maalik in Al-Muwatta']

In these two sources, there is nothing called As-Silsilah Al-Uwaysiyyah; rather, it is one of the innovations and nonsense of some Sufi sects especially the Naqshabandiyyah. For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 29243, 29912, 82017 and 83615.

Therefore, a Muslim should not be concerned about this Silsilah or whether it is continuous or interrupted; as this knowledge will not benefit and ignoring it will not harm. This only leads to wasting one's time and this may lead him to study their (the Naqshabandiyyah's) way and be affected by their falsehood.

Indeed, a Muslim should be concerned with what benefits him and spend his time in this, especially the knowledge of the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). He should know that salvation is only in the religion which the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and his Companions may Allaah be pleased with them were upon. Imaam Maalik may Allaah have mercy upon him said the truth as he said: “What was not part of religion then [i.e. at the time of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and his Companions] is not a part of religion today.

Allaah Knows best.
