All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth is neither found in Saheeh Al-Bukhari nor in Sunan At-Tirmithi nor in any other of the nine books of the Sunnah. As-Suyooti mentioned it in his book entitled Al-Jaami’ As-Sagheer and he attributed it to Maysarah Ibn ‘Ali who reported it in his Mashyakhah and Ar-Raafi’i reported it in his book entitled At-Taareekh (history).
It is, in fact, a fabricated Hadeeth, as stated by Shaykh Al-Albaani in his book entitled Silsilatul Ahaadeeth Adh-Dha’eefah wa'l-Mawdhoo’ah.
Finally, it should be mentioned that one should investigate and ascertain in attributing Ahaadeeth to the books of Sunnah. Look how negligence here led to attributing a fabricated Hadeeth to Saheeh Al-Bukhari, which is in fact the most authentic book after the Book of Allaah The Almighty!
Allaah Knows best.
