All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If that man has wronged you and denied you your right, then it is permissible to supplicate against him because it is permissible for a wronged person to supplicate against the person who wronged him. Ibn ‘Abbaas narrated that the Prophet said to Mu’aadh when he sent him to Yemen: ''Fear the supplication of a wronged person as there is no veil between it and Allaah (i.e. his supplication is answered).” [Al-Bukhari]
Therefore, if the wronged person supplicate against the person who wronged him just according to the injustice that he inflicted on him, then this is permissible; however, if he supplicates against him with more than what he committed, then he is unjust with this additional supplication; this is what Al-Qaraafi established when he said: “One should not supplicate against someone who wronged him asking Allaah to inflict him with a calamity (in this world) which is out of proportion to what he has committed, like if someone does something wrong to you and you supplicate against him with something greater than it, so you would be unjust according to the additional supplication that you made against him, as Allaah Says (what means): {So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you.} [Quran 2:194]”
Therefore, if this wronged person becomes an unjust person by this additional portion of supplication, then if he does not seek forgiveness from the other person, he may take his right from him in the form of good deeds on the Day of Judgment. For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 98960 and 86374.
As regards cursing him, it is not permissible to curse him because it is forbidden to curse a specific Muslim person; for more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 86030 and 91031. Nevertheless, it is permissible to curse a kind of people in general terms, like if a Muslim says: “May Allaah curse the transgressors.”
Thus, it becomes clear that you have exceeded your right, so we advise you to repent from this matter and you should supplicate against that person according to the extent of injustice he inflicted on you only if you ever were to supplicate against the one who wronged you.
Moreover, being patient with a Muslim transgressor and not supplicating against him is better. Rather, if one supplicates to Allaah to guide him, then this would be an act of being kind to someone who wronged him, and there is much reward in this. Allaah Says (what means): {And if you punish (your enemy, O you believers in the Oneness of Allah), then punish them with the like of that with which you were afflicted. But if you endure patiently, verily, it is better for As-Sabirun (the patient).} [Quran 16:126] Allaah also Says (what means): {Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they utter.} [Quran 23:96]
Allaah Knows best.
