Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that it is absolutely not permissible for a woman to establish a friendly relationship with a non-Mahram man; this is even more prohibited if the man is non-Muslim because it is religiously forbidden for a Muslim to befriend (show affection towards) a non-Muslim. There are many disadvantages for a woman befriending a man, like committing Zina (fornication or adultery) and forbidden mixing and the like. Indeed, many dissolute men drag women gradually with the pretext of friendship and providing financial help and the like, until they lead them to vice and Zina.

Therefore, you are obliged to immediately cut your friendship with that man and you should not take money or anything else from him. You should know that Allaah Says (what means): {And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.}[Quran 65:2-3] Allaah also Says (what means): {And whoever fears Allaah -- He will make for him of his matter ease.}[Quran 65:4]

So, you should fear Allaah and Allaah will make a way out for you and provide you from sources you never imagined.

Indeed, we felt in your question that you are keen on staying away from Haraam (unlawful) money and fearing Allaah, so it is not befitting for you to befriend men.

Allaah Knows best.
