All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
It is permissible for you to keep peacock feathers in your house and there is no evidence – as far as we know – that this is not good.
Claiming that it brings sadness and problems in the house is an unfounded claim, and this is a superstition of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance.
Similarly, there is no evidence about the statement that these feathers are pure and that an impure person should not touch them.
We fear that this is taken from some beliefs of false religions. Moreover, being in a state of impurity only prevents one from touching the Mus-haf (the Arabic text of the Quran).
Allaah Knows best.
