Question:

What does it mean when there is a storm rain, snow, tornado, hurricane, are these signs of anger from Allah?

Fatwa:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) is His Slave and Messenger.
Allah, the Glorified and the Exalted, is Wise and all His actions contain divine wisdom.

The natural calamities He sends upon His slaves also have great wisdom. They are sent as punishment to the wrongdoers, trials and tests to the believers and warning for them so that they may repent.

Allah, the Glorified, has mentioned in the Quran that He sometimes examine His slaves by pouring blessings upon them to know whether they are among the thankful ones or among the ungrateful ones. Sometimes He wants to warn them, as He said (which means): {Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.}[Quran 21:35]. Allah also says (which means): {….And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction).}[17:59].

Allah knows best.
