Israel army arrests dozens of Palestinians in West Bank

Israeli forces detained two dozen Palestinians in overnight raids across Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli army.

"Army forces arrested 25 Palestinians from all over the West Bank," the army said in a statement.

The military said 16 of the detainees were suspected of “terror” activities while the other nine were suspected of being Hamas activists.

Israel considers Hamas, a Palestinian resistance group that rules the Gaza Strip, as a “terrorist” organization.

The Israeli army frequently carries out sweeping arrest campaigns in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem that ostensibly target Palestinians "wanted" by the Israeli occupation authorities.

Currently, over 7,000 Palestinians are languishing in Israeli prisons, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs.
