A total of 2,104 people were killed across Syria since the beginning of Ramadan in operations staged by the Syrian regime forces.
The London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), which tracks civilian and opposition casualties, said in its report that death toll in the first 21 days of Ramadan included 671 fighters of the Free Syrian Army -- Syria's main opposition army group fighting to topple Bashar al Assad -- 233 children and 172 women.
The report said that 11 children and an average 100 people lost their lives daily in attacks by forces loyal to the Syrian regime.
The SNHR said that Assad forces killed 638 people in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 381 in Aleppo, 278 in Idlib, 255 in Daraa, 234 in Homs, 96 in Hama, 51 in Raqqah, 48 in Deir al-Zor, 28 in Quneitra, 24 in Haseke, 17 in Tartus, 6 in Latakia, one in Suwayda and 47 people died outside Syria.
"The meaning of the month of Ramadan is special to Muslims. The opposition in Syria offered a ceasefire to the regime forces for the month of Ramadan but it was rejected," the report said.
