Assad forces attack Damascus suburbs

Assad forces heavily attacked on Friday the opposition-controlled suburbs of Syria's capital Damascus.

The Syrian Local Coordination Committee (LCC) stated on Friday that regime forces bombarded the southern regions of Mount Qasioun and Eastern Guta district of Syria and said 2 rockets were launched from each.

Rockets caused damage to several residential areas, leaving many dead and wounded, LCC said and added severe clashes occurred in Yarmouk region, where Palestinian refugees extensively lived.

LCC announced the Darayya, Duma, Jobar, Harasta, Yalda, al-Ziyabiye, Dayr al-Asafir and Kadem regions of Syria were under heavy rocket attack, saying clashes between Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Assad forces took place.

A humanitarian crisis existed in the region and the condition was bad as Assad forces do not allow the entrance of staple food and medical equipment in Yarmouk, Darayya and East Guta.

A security corridor was opened by armed opposition groups in Aleppo for regions under worse conditions and big barricades were built on streets for protection from sharpshooters.

On the other hand, Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) stated they organized anti-regime protests in several cities after Friday Prayer and said regime forces heavily attacked areas, where opponents lived extensively.
