Question
When I was in the Meeqaat (designated point of entering the Hajj rituals), I intended to perform a Qiraan Hajj while those who were with me intended to perform an Ifraad Hajj. I did so out of ignorance as I should have done as they did. I did not discover this mistake until the days of casting the pebbles. I thus performed the obligation of Hajj as an Ifraad Hajj. What is the ruling?
Fatwa
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong if a Muslim to assume Ihraam for any of the three types of Hajj. If you assumed Ihraam for a Qiraan Hajj while others assumed Ihraam for an Ifraad type, then there is no blame on any of you, if Allah wills.
There is no difference between the rituals of the Qiraan and Ifraad Hajj except that the Hadyy (sacrificial animal) is obligatory on the one who performs a Qiraan Hajj. Therefore, if you assumed Ihraam for a Qiraan Hajj, completed the rituals of Hajj and slaughtered a Hadyy, then your Hajj is valid and perfect, if Allah wilss. The intention of the others for Ifraad or Tamattu' does not affect your Hajj.
Allah Knows best.
