No problem If someone in the state of Ihraam shaves the head of someone not in the state of Ihraam

Question

During Hajj of the year before last, I shaved the head of my father before I ended my own state of Ihraam. Am I required to do anything?

Fatwa

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

When two persons in a state of Ihraam have completed their rituals, there is no problem if one of them shaves the head of the other according to the agreement of the four schools of Fiqh (jurisprudence). It is also permissible for someone who has not yet completed his rituals to shave the head of one who is not in a state of Ihraam according to the majority of scholars. They base their view on the fact that, by doing this, he shaves off hair that is no longer forbidden to be shaved on account of the Ihraam, so this action is allowable and requires no expiation.

Allah Knows best.
